The part one of Preliminary Considerations talking about “The seeds of Knowledge may be planted solitude, but must be cultivated in public” written by Edgar Johnson say communication is very significant. First is the influence of communication behaviours, the activity produces the result in communication. Second, communication is the way of exchange the engaged activity, which help the people to improve their communication abilities. Communication is used in many parts of society. Communication and democracy links are very important and accurate. The key word of communication in democracy is show by voice of people which need to promote and defend the idea in a clear and persuasive fashion. Next, communication is an essential view of careers, which is used in many different ways such meeting, negotiation, and international teleconference. Others, communication and social relationships is used to know how to listen and how to talk in a sincere and competent manner to a family member or a close friend, offering a great deal of satisfaction to both parties. Edgar also mentions about the communication and culture which are effectively with people from different culture. Communication has significantly links culture to the people. Communication links with culture in international contacts and domestic contacts.  International contacts refers to way of people communicate with the various cultures, such as in new technology, global conflict, worldwide pollution, economic developments. Beside this, domestic contacts is the interaction of people in the same culture or group mentioning about the revolution, immigrants, ethnic group, politic, employment, and homosexual. Lastly, the author also shows about improvement of communication. The skill of communication, now, is accepted by the most universities, putting in the curriculum in order to offer the effective communication to the students. Moreover, students will be able to get skill of solving problem, manifest high level of personal credibility, and adapt to social change, self confidence, and so on.
